About Us


Kathleen Vance
Kathleen Vance is the director of the Front Room Gallery in New York (founded in 1999). Vance has curated exhibitions nationally and internationally, has been the invited guest juror/critic for Burlington’s South End Art Hop, ASMP (Association of Media Photographers, NY), Photo Regional at Collar Works, and curated and commissioned artworks for the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Vance has been a guest speaker at the Bruce Museum, College Art Association Conference, Hillwood Art Museum, Children’s Museum of Art, Brandywine River Museum, Czech Center, among other institutions and events. As an officer in the Sculptors guild and the Williamsburg Gallery Association, she has organized public art installations, festivals and exhibitions. From her ten years of experience in the interior design industry she has developed a personal approach to artwork placements, commissions and advisements. Vance is board member of ARTfront, Inc. and is an advisor with Upward and Associates. Her curatorial focus is on environmental conservation, which is informed by her work as a professional artist.

Michele Jaslow
Michele Jaslow is a NYC-based independent art curator and writer. A pioneer shaping the current visual arts landscape in Brooklyn Michele is founder and former Gallery Director of Brooklyn Artists Gym, worked with Brooklyn Public Library, Brooklyn Arts Council, BRIC, Coney Island Museum, Waterfront Museum, wagmag, Spaceworks, and Photoville and serves on the Open Source Gallery board.

Michele holds an MFA Cranbrook, BFA Purchase, and post-graduate NYU New Media. She completed Appraisers Association of America’s CASP and is USPAP compliant. Michele is a member of American Alliance of Museums and Association of Art Museum Curators. Her writing focus is contemporary art and includes review for Leonardo/ISAST by MIT Press.
