Château Beaurepaire, Loire Valley, France
Digital Twin is a project aimed at presenting a fresh perspective. Artwork captured digitally in its original location, showcasing the interplay of light on surfaces, alters the way the observer perceives the piece. By utilizing light to interpret the environment, it opens up novel ways of seeing.
Below are eight works of art conceived and created during the 2023 artist residency at Château Beaurepaire in France’s Loire Valley. The location provided an optimal setting to document interactions with the surroundings, visually capturing and examining abstract concepts of place, emotion, and interconnectedness. Texture, color scheme, and form react and correspond with the elements of the site, offering a fresh significance through their interplay. Many thanks to Château Beaurepaire artist residency Director Patricia Smith.
